1. Have a hike, in Stone Park
There are a few pretty great spots to look hiking or camping in our personal State Stone Park. The character preserve is filled with adventure, and of course, wild furry creatures we all love. There are multiple campground sites and trails that any outdoors men wouldn’t mind to discover. Stone park even includes a beautiful place to grill out and have a picnic. Take a look at Turtle Pond and appreciate the rest of your day outside.
2. Catch a show
Our very own Sioux City Community theater and our Shot at nighttime theater always has something up their sleeve. You may go catch a live show and enjoy local talent in stage. From American Idiot, to Heather’s, to Shrek the musical, they’ve got all this with a reasonable price.
3. Grab a bite to nibble on at any of our local restaurants.
We have a fun number of restaurants that happen to be only in Sioux City or maybe in the surrounding tri-state area. Go grab a great cup of joe at either Jitters (they have got the ideal donuts) or Stone Bru. Or, if you’re trying to have lunch somewhere check out our new Blue Cafe. They already have live music and a few pretty good food. Try the Kale chips!
4. Buy some fresh fruits and vegetables with the Farmers Market
Every Wednesday and Saturday morning the farmers market is to establish near the Tyson Events Center. Local farmers and growers come to sell us a selection of their delicious fresh produce. But fruits and veggies aren’t really the only things you can buy. You may also get some good bottles of local honey, bags of local coffee, and fun accessories manufactured by the people of Sioux City. Try a cup of Rosie’s cold brew coffee. It is actually literally to die for. oh, of course, if they’re there, The Birds and also the Bees honey is super yummy.
5. Go to Bacon Creek
Bacon Creek has a number of small parks, a dog park, plus a trail that loops round the creek. It’s an enjoyable location to step out in the boat, fish, take a stroll, have got a small meet up, or take your dog over to socialize with some other dogs. You may grab some bratwurst, some buns, a 6-pack, and view the kids play on the park when you grill out dinner.
6. If they’re around town, go to the Carnival
From June 1st-10th Summer fest is happening in things to do in sioux city and you may go to the carnival! Go ride some super fun and scary rides and merely have fun. You can even try to impress your date by winning them a giant stuffed animal at any one of their door prize games.
7. Possess a Fire by the river
There are many spots in Sioux City where you can find small beaches near the river. It is possible to create a fire and go fishing over a warm summer night. It’s a real fun time for you to hangout with friends and family members. It’s a common thing to do about the fourth of July. Go grab some fire works and also a show as well as a fire.
8. Go notice a Movie in the Park
Take your loved ones out, or require a few friends, to view free movies within the park. They movies are positioned in the bandshell at Grandview Park. Require a blanket, some snacks, along with a buddy. They start June 18th and are powered by select Saturday nights til August 13th.
9. Explore Downtown
Though our downtown might be in the smaller side we do have much to offer. We have now some fun little antique stores, game stores, and restaurants. Check out the Whistler shop and acquire a few things with some history mounted on them, grab a bite to nibble on at one of our local Italian restaurants, Trattoria Fresco, or go hear some live music at Vangarde Arts.
10. Go to Saturday within the Park
Every fourth of July weekend there exists a free music festival. Artists come to preform from the bandshell and you can find a large amount of little kiosks waiting for you to go and get something cool. Every kiosk is rented out by local or traveling artists that are show casing their particular hand made items. This year the Hard Rock is setting the stage with a bit of good music along with the people of Sioux city are bringing the great vibes and some excellent food.
